The Outreach class was a great success this year and ended its course on April the 12th.

The General study course will again be running this year and will start on Tuesday March 15, 2011. The material for course study is identical from last year and can be found posted under our "SCARS Download" section on this website. Further information will be made available as we get closer to the starting date for this class.

The Southcars Outreach Program for the General class license finished its last session for the year on Sunday the 10th. Review sessions are available for the next several weeks for those desiring further explanation. Downloadable audio files on these classes can be found on our website.
Your support staff is now scheduling an Extra class course scheduled to start on November 7th. Interested parties should send us an email at VOIP@SOUTHCARS.COM, and follow the updated information presented on this site as we get closer to the start date. Class material has already been selected, and will be in downloadable form shortly on this website.

The Southcars Outreach General class course has now reached the midpoint of the program. Effective this coming Monday September 27th at 7 to 8 PM EDT the KY6V-L EchoLink system will be on and available for any of you who are registered with this program to ask any questions, or request further explanation to the questions being covered. This is strictly a volunteer situation and open to any of you who need or want to take advantage of this review.
This will not be through the SCARS server; if interested connect to KY6V-L direct. This will be open each Monday at the time shown until the course is completed.

If you have not registered for the class and would like to, please email us at VOIP@SOUTHCARS.COM. For those of you who may be interested after the course has started, you are more than welcome to join the class with the understanding it will be on your own to review the material already covered at the point of your entry.

The Southcars Outreach General class license course will be starting at 7 PM EDT (2300 Z) on Sunday September 12, 2010.
The course will be offered two days a week, one on Sunday at 7 PM EDT (2300 Z), and the second class on Tuesday at 7 PM EDT (2300 Z).
The course will be covering the 484 questions found in the exam pool, and is anticipated to last for approximately 4 weeks.
If you are interested in becoming part of this class, please drop us an email at VOIP@SOUTHCARS.COM, and please include your first name, call, general location, phone number for emergency contact purposes, and your preferred email address.
This course will be using the VOIP protocol and in specific the free program called EchoLink which may be found and downloaded at www.echolink.org. Simply connecting to our *SCARS* server will gain you entrance to the class. Entrance to this course may also be obtained by connecting via RF to any Repeater or Link in your vicinity that is equipped with either EchoLink or IRLP capabilities. If a repeater or link is to be utilized, that system should connect to our *SCARS* server which would be EchoLink node number 96140 or IRLP node 9614.
Downloadable files will be posted in the next few days covering this course and may be found at www.voip.southcars.com and in specific by clicking the SCARS download entry found at the bottom and left of the home page.
